The Rent Party revives a powerful community tradition born in the Harlem Renaissance. In the 1920s, neighbors would gather for nights of jazz and dancing to raise money for rent.Today, Lighthouse brings that same spirit to life, transforming an evening of celebration into a movement for change!
The Rent Party brings together over 250 corporate, community, and philanthropic leaders for a night filled with:- Live jazz and blues performances that pay tribute to the music that defined an era
- Cocktails and fine dining inspired by the Roaring Twenties
- Silent and live auctions featuring exclusive experiences and local treasures
- Impact – be a part of the story, providing hope, stability, and dignity for neighbors in need.
Funds raised from the Rent Party will support Lighthouse’s essential housing and shelter programs. Our 2026 goal is to raise $370,000 – your generosity helps families and individuals find, and keep, a safe, stable place to call home.
With your help, Lighthouse provides emergency shelter for neighbors facing homelessness, affordable housing developments in Oakland County, and supportive services to help break the cycle of poverty.Video
